Privacy Policy
Last updated: December 5, 2025
This Privacy Policy describes how VersyEdu collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information in connection with the VersyEdu platform and related services. This Policy is intended to complement, not replace, any agreements we may have directly with schools, districts, or organizations.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect information that you or your institution provide directly, such as account registration details (name, email address, role, organization), profile information, class or workspace names, prompts, assignments, feedback, and other content submitted through the Service.
We also collect information about how the Service is used, including device and browser information, IP address, log data, timestamps, usage metrics, and interactions within debates, activities, and workspaces.
When the Service is used with students, we may process student names or identifiers, classroom enrollment, participation data, and content created as part of educational activities, consistent with your institution’s configuration and instructions.
2. AI and Automated Processing
To provide features such as transcription, summarization, feedback suggestions, analytics, and other automated insights, we may process portions of User Content and usage data through artificial intelligence and machine learning systems, including third-party AI providers acting on our behalf.
We implement contractual and technical measures with these providers designed to protect personal information and restrict its use to providing services to VersyEdu. We do not permit third-party AI providers to use your identifiable User Content to train models for their own generalized purposes outside of the services they provide to VersyEdu, except as explicitly disclosed or required by law.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to operate, maintain, and provide the Service, including to authenticate users, enable classroom activities, generate transcripts and analytics, support grading and feedback, and communicate with educators and administrators.
We use information to improve and secure the Service, including monitoring performance, diagnosing issues, conducting research and development, training and evaluating models, and preventing fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
We may send service-related communications, such as onboarding messages, updates about new features, security notices, and administrative messages. Where required by law, we will obtain your consent before sending certain types of communications.
4. How We Share Information
We may share information with service providers and subprocessors who help us operate the Service, such as hosting providers, analytics tools, AI processing providers, email delivery services, and customer support tools, subject to confidentiality and data protection obligations.
We may share information with schools, districts, organizations, or program administrators that manage access to the Service, in order to provide them with usage, participation, and performance insights consistent with the educational purposes of the Service.
We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or other corporate transaction, in which case we will take steps to ensure that any successor entity is subject to appropriate data protection obligations.
5. Student and Child Privacy
VersyEdu is intended to be used in educational contexts under the guidance of educators, schools, or parents/guardians. We rely on schools and organizations to obtain any necessary parental or guardian consents for the use of the Service with students, where required by law.
We do not knowingly permit students to create accounts without the involvement of an educator, institution, or responsible adult. If you believe we have collected personal information directly from a child in violation of applicable law, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
6. Data Security
We use technical, organizational, and administrative measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and you are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials and devices.
7. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We may retain aggregated or de-identified data for longer periods for analytics, research, and product improvement.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing. In many cases, requests related to student data must be routed through the relevant school or organization, which controls the account and configuration.
You may also have the right to object to certain uses of data or to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise these rights, you or your institution may contact us using the contact details below.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, or legal obligations. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and provide additional notice where required by law.
